Valentine’s Day Weekend on South Padre Island
This past Valentine’s Day weekend was hoppin’ all over town.
Florists were busy
making sure that customers’ requests were met perfectly.
There were some arrangements with a definite “WOW” factor.
You could buy Valentine’s Day cards that were 3 feet high.
The Blue Marlin bakery staff prepared plump, sweet, chocolate-covered strawberries.
This was one of the window displays in Jake’s Flower Shop.
Doesn’t this tug at your heartstrings?
Down at the Valentine’s Day Mercado there were many beautiful wares to be seen
but not tasted. This is NOT nugget cluster cereal.
Beautiful prints caught the eye.
It was hot enough to melt the tar on the street. If this was February’s temperatures, can you imagine what July will be like? Hot enough to ONLY want to be at the beach.
The way people were buying these fruit cups, this would be a hot sell this summer.
Freddy Mercury was on South Padre Island this weekend.
Valentine’s Day weekend was so packed that it reminded me of Spring Break traffic on South Padre Island.
The traffic was being squeezed into one lane so that caused the backup that was so reminiscent of Spring Break on Friday and Saturday night.
