KOA South Padre Island – Amenities

When someone says, “camping” to me, I conjure up images of sitting in an uncomfortably flimsy totable canvas chair and sitting outside next to a lake sitting around a small campfire wishing I had air-conditioning and TV. This erroneous concept of camping is why I was so impressed by the KOA campground on South Padre Island.

Comfort and luxury were the only two adjectives that came to mind when I visited this hidden gem on South Padre Island, a tropical island on the southern Texas Gulf Coast.

There is ample room to shoot pool in their air-conditioned commons area.

You can step up to the gym area with their state-of-the-art fitness equipment in their super-spacious fitness center. Here the two-dimensionality of photography robs the photos of depth so you cannot really see how very large the workout area is.

The gym equipment is so new and clean you just want to jump right on it and start using the equipment right away!

Did you know that body-sculpting is wonderful for women? The sexy and beautiful queen of female bodybuilding is Rachel McLish and she was born here in south Texas, in Harlingen. http://tinyurl.com/mjgh5s Using weights is wonderful for women because it strengthens and tones your body while helping to prevent osteoporosis.

There is a game area with all kinds of games you can play.

Because I love games, I knew that Scrabble Upwords is a game that is a modification of the original Scrabble. You get to build upwords on words instead of just horizontally and it opens the game up to so many more options. How fun!

When I hear “laundry”, I think “hot, uncomfortable and how long will it be before I get outta here?”

This is NOT the case at the South Padre Island – KOA.

Some shower areas are so icky, you just want to get out of there fast.

This is definitely NOT the case at the South Padre Island – KOA.

The facilities here are nicer than many people’s houses’. My first comment to my tour guide was, “Wow, that looks like tile.” He said, “It is,” and I just smiled. How beautiful.

There are little reminders everywhere that let you know you are at a unique campground in a tropical paradise – the South Padre Island KOA. Why would you stay anywhere else?

This KOA campground is the ULTIMATE place to stay. I was so impressed by all the amenities they offered. Never again when my husband mentions going camping will I picture myself sitting on a big hard rock with a coyote howling at the moon in the background. I had no idea it could be so nice. You can stay here too if you call them here: http://southpadrekoa.com/
